Several entries in the Sites & People collection are marked Needs verification — including the exact address of John Washington's escape, the full biography of Gladys and Ira West, and the precise route of Free Alley. These are active, not abandoned, research threads.
Descendant families with documents, photographs, or family stories connected to any Liberty Line record are the single most valuable resource the project can draw on. Local congregations, libraries, and long-time residents are also frequent sources of leads.
A question moves from open to resolved once two independent sources — ideally one primary and one from family or community memory — agree, and the entry's research status is updated accordingly on the Sites & People page.
